A sociable week

A few weeks ago a lady asked if I was training for anything in particular and I told her about my mission to lose weight, she was in training for a walk up Snowdon (I later found out that the weekend she should have gone on the walk it was bad weather wise and she pulled out as it wasn't safe for those that weren't experienced walkers) but we chatted about a few things and we have the same Personal trainer too.

On Wednesday night I had a workout and a swim then decided to chill out in the bar with a coffee, she came in and started chatting again, she didn't stop long as it was late and she was just going in the gym so wanted to get in there before it shut! So I've decided that stopping for a coffee although it may be a bad habit it is also a good one as I'm starting to chat to other members (have been a member since February and not really spoken to anyone!!)

On Thursday night I did the circuits class, after being dragged into it the previous week I went voluntarily this week! There were more that 4 there this week which made it a lot better I even felt obliged to run! There were a group of ladies there that were quite chatty, although thing the instructor found them too chatty as they seemed to exercise their mouth more than the rest of their body and you could see he wasn't impressed! And the one other lady that was there last week said she was pleased I came back and I told her how motivated I was and then about my HotPants and that kind of killed the conversation!! I think I need to get Zaggora to send me some leaflets so I can put them in the gym to stop me being looked at like I have 3 heads when I'm trying to spread the word about how wonderful HotPants are!!

Here we go again!

Well,

Here I am back again! Back in April I got into the right frame of mind again to start losing weight, I rejoined the gym in March but hadn't used it much but from May I've been practically using it as my second home! I was also prescribed Xenical by my gp and started taking them after showing that I could follow a low fat diet. Xenical works by blocking a third of the fat getting into your system unfortunately there are some nasty side effects as if you eat too much fat it does need to go somewhere :s I will let you figure the rest out ;)

In July I discovered a product called HotPants, They were being offered 1/2 price on KGB Deals so I decided to give it a go! They arrived pretty much the next day and I couldn't wait to put them on!

Included in the packaging was information about taking part in a 2 week challenge so I had a look on Facebook and started posting! I also started following on Twitter before I knew it I was posting when I could these HotPants were amazing! During the 2 week challenge I think I lost about 2 inches from my thigh and 2 or 3 inches from my waist.

During the 2 week challenge Zaggora were running a competition to win a personal trainer for a year. For once me raving on about something came up trumps I was picked as a winner! I really couldn't have asked for a better prize!

On the 12th August I had my 1st session with Ben! We had a chat about my lifestyle and diet (I completely confused him with the Xenical because he had never heard of it!) etc and then went and hit the gym floor, he looked at my posture for squats and lunges etc then set me a program to follow when I'm working out on my own. The program is completely different to what I am used to, no cv equipment involved other than for a 5 min warm up! Although I now am allowed to do interval training on the rower or bike by rowing flat out for a minute and then resting for a minute, I now manage 10 minutes of this.

I now have a 30 min session with Ben a week. He always does something different and usually tries pushing me in some way, last nights session he wanted me to row 500m in 2.06mins - my forfeit if I didn't do it was to do 20 burpees - yes I managed to row the 500m in 2.04 :D In his words - I am a machine!!
